The 2023 Safe Routes for Schools project is located at Springvalley Elementary. The program aims to make walking and biking to school safer through targeted infrastructure improvements and education. It is a collaboration between School District 23 officials (Principal, Teachers, Traffic Safety Officer, Planners, etc.), school Parent Advisory Committee members, parents, students, and municipal stakeholders (City of Kelowna, Interior Health, RCMP, RDCO, etc.). The project is part of the ongoing investments by the City to achieve the goals within the Transportation Master Plan (TMP), Official Community Plan (OCP), Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan (PBMP), and others.
