The City is constructing Phase 1 of the Aerated Static Pile Composting System.  The composting system will receive municipal yard waste and produce ~143 tonnes/day of Class ‘A” primary compost according to the Environment Management Act, Public Health Act and Organic Matter Recycling Regulation for BC. The City has a contract in place with Engineered Compost Systems for the supply of the Aerated Static Pile (ASP) Composting equipment including all auxiliary components, controls, and biofilter odour control system. The installation of the equipment along with other related civil, mechanical and electrical works will take place in 2023.
