FortisBC Power Hours Rewards Program

The Power Hours Rewards Program encourages FortisBC electricity customers to participate in power hour events, to reduce their energy use by having their thermostat turned down or up (depending on the season), and/or by not charging their EV during peak-demand periods.

By signing up and participating in the events, customers may save energy, earn valuable financial rewards and reduce overall demand on the electricity system. For more information, visit Power Hours Rewards Program.

Members of the public can provide comments no later than January 31, 2024 by contacting biodiversity.ecosystemhealth@gov.bc.ca. See B.C.'s draft Biodiversity and Ecosystem Health Framework for more information.

Feedback sought for provincial Emergency Support Services program

With the increasing frequency and severity of wildfires and floods due to climate change, the Province is revamping its approach to emergencies to ensure people and communities are receiving the supports they need. A part of this work involves updating the Emergency Support Services (ESS) program to better meet the needs of people requiring support when they are evacuated from their home due to an emergency.

The Province is seeking feedback from evacuees, front-line workers, volunteers, families and businesses about how ESS could be improved. The public survey will be open until Feb. 9, 2024, at 4 p.m. (Pacific time). The survey can be accessed at Emergency Support Services - govTogetherBC.
