A summer visit from Kelowna's Sister City

July 13, 2023

News Release

Kelowna Mayor and Council welcomed delegates from Sister City, Kasugai, Japan this afternoon in Kasugai Gardens. This is the first official visit between the Sister Cities since 2016.

Kasugai delegates will be in town until July 16 and the rest of their visit will consist of various events and activities which showcase our vibrant community and provide our guests with a taste of local culture and traditions.

“We are so happy to have our friends from Kasugai here with us in Kelowna this week,” said Kelowna Mayor Tom Dyas. “We have fostered this Sister City relationship for more than 40 years, and visits like this allow us to build relationships and share stories. We look forward to continuing this strong relationship for years to come.”

This visit is a significant milestone in the ongoing friendship between Kelowna and Kasugai, and it is an exciting opportunity for both cities to engage in cultural exchange, strengthen the bond of the Sister City relationship and to foster greater understanding and appreciation between the two communities.
